Biography
Daniela Amodei is an American entrepreneur and the president and co-founder of Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude series of models. She co-founded the firm in 2021 with her brother Dario Amodei, after serving as vice president of safety and policy at OpenAI and earlier working at Stripe.
Amodei was born in San Francisco in 1987 and graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in literature and a minor in politics. She appears as herself in the 2026 documentary The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, discussing the development and implications of generative AI.
