Fortune Feimster’s warmth and comic timing suit ensemble comedy, while her stand-up gives her room to tell a story. We value that lightness, but the repeated conspiracy gag in Zootopia 2 is a poor use of it.

In Zootopia 2 (2025), Nibbles Maplestick has a running gag about conspiracy theories. Fortune Feimster’s taste for silliness makes the casting understandable, but the joke wears thin. We grew impatient with the repetition and found ourselves waiting for Gary De’Snake to return. Feimster is an appealing comic presence, and it is frustrating to hear her given so little that is worth saying twice.
The Mindy Project (2015–2017) gave her a regular role as Colette Kimball-Kinney, alongside creator and co-star Mindy Kaling. Ensemble comedy suits her timing and the warmth she brings to character work. Her stand-up special Sweet & Salty (2020) gives more space to autobiographical storytelling drawn from her Southern upbringing, with an emphasis on anecdote and an outlook that stays positive. Voice work in Soul (2020) broadened her animation work, while FUBAR (2023–2025) gave her a lead role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Feimster also voices Eugenia Bunsen in Cal Brunker’s 2026 PAW Patrol film. There is some dinosaur diversion, and the film treats Rex with care, but the writing is thin and the lessons are blunt. It is hard to recommend beyond households already devoted to the pups. Our objection is to that thin writing, rather than any particular failing in Feimster’s delivery.
We would not ask Feimster to become darker or more abrasive simply to sound more serious. What a part like Nibbles needs is a second comic idea before the first has worn out. Her warmth is useful, but it should not have to do all the work for a script that keeps returning to the same gag. Start with Sweet & Salty for the storyteller rather than the conspiracy routine.
Biography
Fortune Feimster is an American comedian, writer and actress. She made her television debut on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2010 and starred as Colette on The Mindy Project (2015–2017). She trained in improv and sketch comedy with The Groundlings in Los Angeles.
Feimster has voiced characters in animated films and series, including Counselor Jerry in Soul (2020) and Nibbles Maplestick in Zootopia 2 (2025). Her live-action credits include Office Christmas Party (2016), The Happytime Murders (2018), Yes Day (2021) and Family Switch (2023), as well as recurring roles on Glee and The Morning Show.
