Bracey moved into film acting from 1909, appearing in more than 320 films until his death, often in uncredited character roles as butlers, valets or authority figures. His credits include Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) as Dance Hall Manager, The Cameraman (1928) as Editor, Freaks (1932) as Hans' Butler, Duck Soup (1933) as Mrs. Teasdale's Butler, A Star Is Born (1937) as Burke's Butler, and Dark Victory (1939) as Bartender.
