Biography
Barry Otto is an Australian actor. He was born in 1941 in Brisbane, Queensland.
Otto began his career in amateur theatre in the 1970s. He is known for his role as Doug Hastings in Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom (1992), for which he won Australian Film Institute and Film Critics Circle of Australia awards for Best Supporting Actor. Other film credits include Bliss (1985), The Punisher (1989), Australia (2008), The Great Gatsby (2013) and The Dressmaker (2015). He has also appeared in television series such as Farscape.
He is the father of actresses Miranda Otto and Gracie Otto.
