Biography
Eric Kohn is an American film journalist, critic, educator and producer. He served as IndieWire's chief film critic from 2010 to 2021 and held various editorial and executive roles at the publication from 2007. He has taught film criticism at New York University since 2014 and co-founded the Critics Academy workshops at the Locarno and New York film festivals.
In 2023, Kohn joined Harmony Korine's multimedia company EDGLRD as head of strategy and development for film. He is a producer on the 2025 feature Barrio Triste, directed by Stillz and executive produced by Korine, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. He has also served as executive producer on films including Baby Invasion (2024). In 2024, he was appointed artistic director of the Southampton Playhouse in New York.
