Biography
John Muto is a production designer. His credits include Home Alone (1990), Night of the Comet (1984), River's Edge (1986), Flowers in the Attic (1987), Gleaming the Cube (1989), Heart Condition (1990), Only the Lonely (1991), Heart and Souls (1993) and Species (1995).
He studied writing at the University of California, Berkeley, and has no formal design training. Muto began his career in theatre before entering film, where he also worked in visual effects and art department roles on earlier projects such as Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). He has taught production design at the AFI Conservatory.
