Biography
John Philbin is an American actor. Born on 27 April 1960 in Carmel, California, he began surfing at the age of 12 and studied acting at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was also a member of the university surf team.
Philbin is known for roles including Amos in Children of the Corn (1984), Chuck in The Return of the Living Dead (1985), Turtle in North Shore (1987), Nathanial in Point Break (1991) and Tom McLaury in Tombstone (1993). He has also appeared in Soul Surfer (2011) and an episode of Bones (2005). An accomplished surfer, he has worked as a surf instructor for actors on films including Blue Crush (2002). His screen career began in 1984 and continues to the present.
