Biography
Simona Pădurețu is a Romanian production designer. She studied sculpture at secondary school before training in scenography at the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
She has worked extensively with directors including Cristian Mungiu and Corneliu Porumboiu. Her credits include production design on Tales from the Golden Age (2009), Graduation (2016), The Whistlers (2019), The Father Who Moves Mountains (2021), R.M.N. (2022) and Fjord (2026). She has also designed for television series such as Tuff Money (2020) and Subteran (2025).
Pădurețu received a Gopo Award for best production design for The Whistlers and has one win and four nominations in total.
