Jurassic Park 1993Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur adventure earns its scares by making us want to stand and stare. Simplified characters and occasional sentimentality do little to diminish our enthusiasm for its creatures or its suspense.Fi1m 91 - 2
The Lost World: Jurassic Park 1997Spielberg’s sequel has better dinosaurs, a meaner streak and one sequence, in a trailer on a cliff, as good as anything he has made. It also has a script that treats its people as bait and a last half hour that goes somewhere silly.Fi1m 64 - 3
Jurassic Park III 2001Joe Johnston’s third *Jurassic Park* film is fast, short and frightening in short bursts, and it has been made from a script with two good ideas and no third act. Worth a wet afternoon with children who can take a fright; not worth much more.Fi1m 58 - 4
Jurassic World 2015Colin Trevorrow reopens the park, fills it with paying customers and lets loose a dinosaur built to order. The lagoon show and Chris Pratt are worth the evening; the rest is loud, weightless and unkind to its own heroine.Fi1m 60 - 5
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 2018J. A. Bayona shoots the eruption and the old house with a horror director’s patience, and in stretches this is the handsomest the series has looked. The script gives him cartoon villains and a plot that keeps stopping to sell things.Fi1m 58 - 6
Jurassic World Dominion 2022Colin Trevorrow reunites two casts and lets a planet’s worth of dinosaurs loose, then hands the plot to a swarm of locusts. Neill, Dern and Goldblum have the only fun on offer; the rest is 147 minutes of running down corridors.Fi1m 42 - 7
Jurassic World Rebirth 2025Gareth Edwards stages dinosaurs with more patience and scale than the series has managed in years, and two long sequences are close to wonderful. David Koepp’s script sends people we barely know on an errand that runs out before the film does.Fi1m 63
