Biography
Douglas Milsome is an English cinematographer. Born in Hammersmith, London, in 1939, he began his career in the camera department and worked as a focus puller and camera operator on several Stanley Kubrick films, including A Clockwork Orange (1971), Barry Lyndon (1975) and The Shining (1980).
Following the death of cinematographer John Alcott in 1986, Milsome served as director of photography on Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987). He later photographed Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Breakdown (1997) and Legionnaire (1998), among other films. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers.
His son, Mark Milsome, was also a camera operator.
