Biography
Jim Taylor is an American screenwriter and producer. He has frequently collaborated with director Alexander Payne, co-writing the screenplays for Citizen Ruth (1996), Election (1999), About Schmidt (2002), Sideways (2004) and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007). He also contributed to the screenplay for Jurassic Park III (2001) and later wrote Downsizing (2017) and Juliet, Naked (2018).
Taylor was born in 1962 in Seattle, Washington. He studied at Pomona College and earned an MFA from New York University. He began working in the film industry in the late 1980s and has received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (shared with Payne) for Sideways, along with other nominations and awards for his screenwriting and producing work.
