Biography
Robbie Robertson (born Jaime Royal Robertson) was a Canadian composer, guitarist and songwriter. Born in Toronto in 1943, he was lead guitarist and songwriter with the Band and later collaborated extensively with director Martin Scorsese on film soundtracks and scores.
His film work began with the concert documentary The Last Waltz (1978) and continued with music supervision, production and original compositions on Scorsese films including Raging Bull (1980), The King of Comedy (1982), The Color of Money (1986), Casino (1995), The Irishman (2019) and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). He died in Los Angeles in August 2023.
