Biography
Pieter Jan Brugge is a Dutch film producer, production manager and occasional director. He graduated from the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam in 1979 and later studied at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
Brugge has frequently collaborated with directors Michael Mann, Edward Zwick and Alan J. Pakula. His producing credits include Heat (1995), The Pelican Brief (1993), The Insider (1999), Miami Vice (2006), Defiance (2008) and Love & Other Drugs (2010). He also served as producer, writer and director on The Clearing (2004) and has worked on the television series Bosch and Bosch: Legacy.
He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for The Insider.
